The Game So Far:
-“circa 1982 B.C.E.:” Demihumans settle in what’s later known as the “Vanished Lands” [first Player Character parties in Westchester, New York; OD&D, 1982 A.D./C.E.].
-1244 to 1239 B.C.E.: “Faelonia” [Dexter V.H.], “Tunnel” [Stuart C.G.], and others serve as scouts and diplomats during the “Six Kingdoms’ War” [SUNY-Binghamton; AD&D2, 1987 to 1991]. The Exodus.
-1238 to 1236: The “Children of the Elder Gods” participate in the “Chaos Wars,” among many other adventures [NYPIRG at Queens College-CUNY, 1990 to 1991].
-1235 to 1233: “The Paragon” restores contact between the Giants and the Zeda kingdom before founding Morbaltek in the Ivory Mountains [GWU/BNA, Virginia, 1993 to 1999]. The Trojan War ends.
-1232: In the northwestern borderlands, the “Liberators” battle Orcish warlords, retrieve the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords, and discover the lost city of Eagle’s Rest (near Dosh Kar); the Nannuattan seize the Temple of Elemental Evil [CW, Boston area; D&D3.0, 2000 to 2002].
-1231: The privateers aboard the “Dragon’s Bane” sail the Sea of Nagendwa, meet aquatic races, and repel the dreaded ghost fleet from Hesolin. Former members of the “Dragonslayers,” including “Ibrahim” [Byron V.O.], explore Eagle’s Rest and Tel Silat [D&D3.5, 2002 to 2004]. They later help destroy the Flying Citadel, found the Gargoyle Headlands and a monastery/dojo, and slay the Undead gold dragon Daneira in the port of Gisar.
-1230: “Mystical Harmony/the Seekers of Lore” fight monsters from Zuromm on the Plains of Sathendo before adventuring through time [2005 to 2006]. The “Broken Chains” wander the hostile Halmed Desert and take control of Emein Island; “Holy Steel” sets out for the distant empire of Khemet (New Kingdom Egypt) [2007 to 2008].
September 1230 B.C.E. [D&D4e, starting July 2008]:
-1 to 4: “Dante” [Paul J.], “Kimo” [Beruk A.], and “August” [Greg D.C.] escort a merchant caravan from the city of Hesolin into the barbaric Gusorin Confederation, encountering Goblinoids and vampire spawn on the way. “Val” [Brian W.] and “Tonks” [Sara F.] leave the Bamor Mountains and the violent humanoids of Gokuri.
-4 to 6: “Kof” [Alex J.], “Harald” [John C.M.], and “Jan” [Anna G.] witness an attack by dragons on the city of Tekugi and lead 50 refugees to the village of Hasnold, where they meet the merchant caravan, the duo from Gokuri, and “Guthfrith” [Josh C.].
-6 to 8: The newly united party, dubbed the “Faith-Based Initiative,” clears out the Arden Inn of Undead and reveals the corruption of Brother Anselm.
-8 to 10: The adventurers take Brother Anselm northwest, encountering Skaevingol raiders on the way. After exploring the barrow of Bors Giant-slayer, they pursue and slay the vampire SinJin and his minions.
-11 to 14: The “F.B.I.” rides to the hamlet of Harsuth, fights Yellow Musk Creepers, and investigates the house of suspected cannibal Kivo the Mad, where it finds frosty dragonets, viny horrors, and traps.
-15 to 19: After meeting a Skaevingol (Viking-style) human warband known as the “Breath Stealers” and Woldan Halfling bandits, the group goes north and takes a barge into Tekugi.
-20 to 26: After making disturbingly close contacts in the city’s temples and watch, the group meets with potential rebels against the Guanbo (Gokuri secret police) in a tea house, on the race field, and in a casino. It sets fire to some barracks and part of the dock district, raising a horde of Undead and retrieving some weapons in the process. Jan, Harald, Kof, and Guthfrith leave.
-27 to 30: The “F.B.I.” meets with Warlords “Kyrene” [Angela M.B.R./Non-Player Character] and “Tim-Floyd” [Steve M./N.P.C.] about retrieving three Barbari artifacts.
“October 1230 B.C.E.” (September-November 2008)
-1 to 12: The “Faith-Based Initiative” meets with warlord “Saerek” [Greg D.C./N.P.C.] and “Kurick” [Dave C.]. The adventurers ride along Lake Bedoni’s eastern shore, encountering Wolven, Satyrs, and Dryads on their way to the Grugach (Wild Elves), as well as caves infested by Undead Bugbears, Owlbears, and Goblins.
-12 to 14: The wanderers find a strange pair of statues, a floating Grugach outpost, and the haunted village of Cherba in the Wisalef Forest.
-15 to 20: The “F.B.I.” attends a concert by sage Ariadne, inquires about the Barbari relics, and engages in oil wrestling before passing through the village of Almontil on the way to Alfhileno, capital of the Waletku kingdom of the Elves.
-21 to 23: The adventurers talk with the Royal Air Corps; conduct research at the local Magisterium (magic school/library); and get involved in intrigues around the thieves’ guild, the Hifalendorin embassy, and assorted temples in Alfhileno.
-24 to 27: The team seeking three Barbari relics encounters a Troll, Orcs, and Bullywugs while guarding a caravan along the Aspar River. “Holy Steel” visits the fabled city of Babylon.
-28 to 31: The “F.B.I.” visits Nadwi’s Dagger District, Magisterium, and consulate of Zuromm while resupplying and looking for more clues to the Spear of Vorod.
November 1230 B.C.E.” [December 2008]
-2 to 5: While escorting three barges southward on the Aehonir River, the “F.B.I.” fights off Scrags (aquatic Trolls) on the way to Hesolin, capital of the human kingdom of Hifalendor.
-5 to 7 [January 2009]: The “F.B.I.” contacts members of the “King’s Cavaliers,” is rejoined by “Kof,” and talks to alchemists in Hesolin.
-7 to 11: After spotting Minotaurs near the town of Chevroln, the party fights six Draconians on its way to the village of Neldar.
-12 to 18: The adventuring party scouts the armies of the Gusorin Confederation and the kingdom of Gokuri on the Plains of Sathendo, meeting Harald on the way. Kurick obtains the Spear of Vorod, gives it to “Saerek,” and helps attack a white dragon.
-19 to 25: The “F.B.I.” again follows the eastern shore of Bedoni Lake, encountering Goblin-riddled caves and a crow-like monster before talking to Grugach followers of Taureen the Strong. “Holy Steel” arrives at Fort Tharvu in the Sinai.
-26 to 30: Passing northeast into the kingdom of Gokuri, the group finds strange creatures and enemy scouts in the Bamor Mountains, before helping to free Gen. Shin Kyong-tsu from exile in Hazakuwi. “Holy Steel” travels to Pi-Ramesses.
“December 1230 B.C.E.” [February to March, 2009]
-1 to 7: The “F.B.I.” arrives at the Korobokuru citadel of Bazran Hai and contacts three generals on behalf of Gen. Shin. However, the group has to fight Ninjas in the capital of the Zedu kingdom and convince the eastern Dwarves to help the general before continuing its quest for the Horn of Connor.
-8 to 12: Entering the Therud Forest, Kurick learns in the hamlet of Yanui of giant panda steeds. Then, at a karst mountain, the party sees a giant, a displaced Skaevingol longhouse, and a pagoda with many strange inhabitants and a portal to the Abyss. “Ibrahim” is charged with treason and placed under house arrest.
-13 to 19 [April-May 2009]: After freeing a Celestial bureaucrat, who teleports them back out to the woods, the party regroups in the pagoda and defeats Peloka and her Dark Creeper/Stalker and Shadar-kai retinue, taking the Horn of Connor. Some of “Holy Steel” visits Bubastis and Memphis.
-20 December 1230 to 3 March 1229 B.C.E.: In the Therud Forest, the “F.B.I.” meets a pale sorceress and her son, who is exiled to an enchanted island. After escaping from the island and returning to Bazran Hai, the wanderers found that three months had passed. “Holy Steel” travels to Saqqara and the pyramid of Unas.
“January 1229 B.C.E.” [July to December 2009]: “Holy Steel” goes south to Bubastis, Memphis, and Saqqara to investigate the activities of evil cultists of Set. At the tomb of Unas, the party uncovers desecration and retrieves the Book of Thoth for Prince Khaemwaset, and a side mission to the Sinai Desert finds smugglers trading in illicit magic….
“March 1229 B.C.E.” [June to July, 2009]
-4 to 10: To free the displaced Skaevingol longhouse, the group returned to the Tower of Rust, meeting samurai Zhou Li and Kof on the way. The group then used the Horn of Connor to escape from the demon Dharga, teleporting to the Halmed Desert! After fending off Asherati bandits from a traders’ caravan, they stopped in Galko, where Kurick met Qedeshot Nabilah.
-11 to 14: After fighting bat-riding Goblins in a wadi, the “F.B.I.” slayed a venomous basilisk. The caravan then found the phylactery of lich Joshal and fought ghouls, wights, and giant scorpions before tracking Dimgo to a cave hideout before retrieving a scroll case and bone scepter.
-15 to 21: After turning Dimgo over to the Mamluks, the group visits the temples, markets, and towers of sorcery in Falit. The wanderers encounter corsairs, Tieflings, sages, and Gnomes.
-22 to 31: Sailing northeast aboard the “Hurricane” with Capt. Homzu, the “F.B.I.” rescues Lady Mira from a shipwreck and the ghost fleet, only to fight two Tritons and a Scyllan. The woman turns out to be a Lorelei and is defeated before the ship returns to Falit to resupply.
“April 1229 B.C.E.” [July to August 2009]
-1 to 6: The “F.B.I.” sees a mysterious island and ice, fights Undead Scrags and the Lorelei on the Sea of Nagendwa, and arrives at Hesolin, where it learns about various wars. “Kimo” investigates the sack of the city’s Magisterium (magic school/library), and “Kurick” recruits followers.
-7 to 11: After a battle against Undead and bullettes on Nuloth Bridge, the wanderers capture two Saganim smugglers in necromantic items and turn them over to the knights of Otih. Their investigations lead to a nest of vampires.
-14 to 16: The adventuring party fights Mordant Slobodan near the temple of Sherma and follows his trail into Hesolin’s sewers, where Troglodyte guides betray it. Later, the group follows a barge and fights zombies in the swamps.
-17 to 30: After some debate, the group rides north to resume its quest for the Helm of Gunnar, encountering Firbolgs and Phoelarchs and stopping by the village of Pledwilt (which Kurick was renaming “Stormhold”) on the way.
“May 1229 B.C.E.” [October 2009]
-1 to 10: After returning to the village of Neldar, the “F.B.I.” tracked and fought Wolven before reporting to “Saerek” [Greg D.C./N.P.C.] near Crontar.
-11 to 15: While going around the Bedoni Lake, the group fought Wolven of the Deathstalker Clan, Spriggans disguised as Elves, and Shambling Mounds.
-16 to 20: The would-be heroes passed through Grugach territory, meeting Centarurs in Sonamtil and Aerkon, “Kurick’s” [Dave S.C.] latest follower, in Oakheart. “Val” stayed behind with Bard Ariadne, and his companions encountered Ettercaps, Goblins, and Draconians in the haunted town of Cherba.
-21 to 24 [November 2009]: Posing as mercenaries, the travelers avoided Mount Gruldar, met Tinker Gnome Artificer “Wirth” [Brian W.], and bargained with Oni to cross a massive bridge over a river of lava, and rode into the Bamor Mountains, avoiding a Gokuri army.
-25 to 31: After stopping at the Orcish town of Rathlo, the group, now posing as slave traders, entered the Underdark, where it passed a few Mind Flayers. A battle with Orcs, Oni, a Duergar, and an ice demon resulted in the death of “August” [Greg D.C.]. The party then encountered Bakemono, a purple worm, and a cult of Things Man Was Not Meant to Know.
“June 1229 B.C.E.” [December 2009]
-1 to 6: “August” [Greg D.C.] miraculously rejoined the “F.B.I.,” which stopped in the town of Rukizawa on its way to find Falgun Abhey, the bearer of the Helm of Gunnar. While escorting a caravan bearing wyvern eggs from Rukizawa, the travelers met onetime traveling companion “Harald” [John C.M.] with some Nannuattan, as well as swarm-dumping Morlocks. “Kof” [Alex J.] left for Bazran Hai.
“June 1229 B.C.E.” [December 2009]
-1 to 6: “August” [Greg D.C.] miraculously rejoined the “F.B.I.,” which stopped in the town of Rukizawa on its way to find Falgun Abhey, the bearer of the Helm of Gunnar. While escorting a caravan bearing wyvern eggs from Rukizawa, the travelers met onetime traveling companion “Harald” [John C.M.] with some Nannuattan, as well as some swarm-dumping Morlocks.
-7 to 9: In the Underdark town of Rothedma, the group visited the temples of Mordra and Tiamat and found itself in a trapped inn before meeting the Vaskuli the purple. The deep dragon offered Kurick and company armies, rulership, and wealth in return for their infiltration and conquest of the Korobokuru (eastern Dwarven) citadel of Bazran Hai.
-10 to 15: The “F.B.I.” seizes the Helm of Gunnar and fights its way out of the temple of Tiamat, but August is slain again by Vaskuli, and “Tonks” [Sara F.] is captured. The survivors, hunted by Nannuattan ninjas, make their way across the Bamor Mountains to Bazran Hai, where “Wirth” [Brian W.] stays behind to write about his misadventures.
-15 to 23: Still in deep cover as a worshipper of Mordra, Harald rescues Tonks and her brother from interrogation and slavery. They leave the Underdark and head south, while their former companions manage to get to Crontar and “Saerek’s” [Greg D.C.] stronghold. A council of Barbari warlords agrees to give the Helm of Gunnar to “Rache” [Paul J.], since Saerek already has the Spear of Vorod and “Kurick” [Dave S.C.] has the Horn of Connor.
-23 to 30: “Kimo” [Beruk A.] resumes his studies at Hesolin’s Magisterium, and “Kof” [Alex J.] considers returning to his homeland in the Ivory Mountains. Kurick and Rache ride to Stormhold and the Aehonir River to recruit Bullywugs to join their growing army to oppose Gokuri oppression….
